  1. First snow!

    January 21, 2012 by Anne

So we got about four inches. It’s very pretty but made us late Saturday. It’s hardly worthwhile to come in for 3.5 hours. Closed late & actually got some drudge work done.

  2. Only 362 shopping days left!

    December 28, 2011 by Anne

The rush is over, but we’re still almost as busy as last week. Dave is snowed under with repairs & several folks are looking at diamonds to ring in 2012. It’s been a very good year for our business. Thank you all for making it possible. Happy New Year!

  3. Two weeks out

    December 9, 2011 by Anne

Things are starting to go a little crazy at HCO! People are shopping early, it seems. My cottage industry of precious metal clay pendants is taking off, too! Since making my first one, I’ve had orders for four more. I’m happy about that!

  4. First Monday

    December 5, 2011 by Anne

We were open for the first Monday of the 2011 Christmas season today. Not surprisingly, very few folks came to visit! Dave & I got caught up on a bunch of boring but necessary tasks, though.   We cast a custom ring for a customer & it came out absolutely perfect.  It’s always nerve-wracking to cast – so many things can go wrong.  Had good luck today!

Myself, I like these extra days at the store. The usual mayhem will commence tomorrow, God help us!

  5. The industry with a heart

    December 5, 2011 by Anne

As the industry’s charity, Jewelers for Children (JFC) is generously supported by those who create and sell fine jewelry and watches. Henderson & Co. has been contributing to this worthy cause since its inception.  Manufacturers, retail jewelers, trade associations, watch companies and those who provide professional services to the jewelry industry unite on behalf of children.

Since 1999, nearly $35 million has been invested in special programs to reach children whose lives have been devastated by catastrophic illness or life-threatening abuse and neglect. Please join with the “Industry with a Heart” in support of the work being done by our charity partners.

  6. Earlier this year

    December 5, 2011 by Anne

David & Anne took an extended tour of eight National Parks during most of June. They hiked Yosemite, rode mules down into the Grand Canyon, mined for opals in northwest Nevada, & drove through the Grand Tetons. It was a terrific adventure but not without its challenges.

At one point, David ended up in the emergency room at St. Luke’s Hospital in Twin Falls, Idaho, with an abscessed wisdom tooth! All in all, it was a wonderful vacation & provided many stories and photos to share.
